The Linn County Sheriff's Office is alerting citizens of Harrisburg and surrounding communities of a hazardous materials exercise in downtown Harrisburg on Thursday morning, June 16, 2022.

There will be emergency vehicles and first responders in the area participating in the exercise and we wanted the public to be aware of what is going on so that the 9-1-1 systems and non-emergent lines are not tied up with calls regarding this exercise.
There will be a public viewing area at BN park.

The Linn County Emergency Operations Center, located at the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, will send out an electronic notification of the exercise to the public, indicating the event and that it is only an exercise.
