Grass fire closes 30th Avenue near LCC in Eugene

EUGENE, Ore. - A grass fire closed 30th Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

Firefighters got the call at 4 p.m. reporting a grass fire near 30th and Spring Boulevard, not far from Lane Community College.

Fire crews responded and brought the fire under control.

As of 5 p.m., Eugene Springfield Fire said 30th would be closed for about an hour.

Eugene Police issued a press release at 5:28 p.m. saying 30th was closed from Spring Boulevard to I-5. "There are several small fires that are being worked in the area," the statement read. "There are no evacuations at this time."
