Glide man in custody following Roseburg shooting

    ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Douglas County man is in custody following a shooting in Roseburg, Roseburg Police Department reports.

    Around 6:30 p.m. Monday, Roseburg Police were dispatched to a report of a 34-year-old female gunshot victim at a single-family residence on SE Downey Avenue in Roseburg.

    When officers arrived, they located the injured woman and she was transported to Mercy Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is unknown.

    The suspect, 32-year-old Joshua James Kramer of Glide, was identified but had fled the scene prior to officer’s arrival.

    During a subsequent search for Kramer, he was spotted while driving in Roseburg.

    Kramer and the victim are believed to be known to each other, police said.

    Kramer was arrested and charged with first degree assault.

    There's no known ongoing threat to the public at this time, police said.

    The Douglas County Major Crimes Team was activated for this case.

    Winston Police Department also assisted in the investigation.

    The case is still in the early stages of investigation and is ongoing.
