ROSEBURG, Ore. - A Roseburg native who twice unsuccessfully ran for Congress faces accusations he unlawfully filmed himself having consensual sex with a woman in Virginia, police there confirmed.

Arlington Virginia Police arrested Jim Feldkamp on November 20 on a misdemeanor charge of Unlawful Filming, Videotaping or Photographing of Another.

Court records indicate the alleged incident happened August 12.

The 22-year-old woman later discovered the camera and viewed video of the two having a consensual sexual encounter, according to Arlington Police.

Feldkamp, 53, tried to calm her fears, but the woman went to police to report what had happened September 26, according to police.

Police obtained a search warrant and seized a camera September 30, according to police.

He faces his next court appearance on the charge next week.

Feldkamp unsuccessfully challenged Rep. Peter DeFazio in the 2004 and 2006 elections.

Feldkamp had worked as an adjunct instructor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at George Mason University in Virginia since 2008.
