GERVAIS, Ore. - Firefighters found a body inside a burning RV Thursday morning.
Residents of the farm house said the RV appeared sometime overnight - and that they do not know who the RV belongs to or who may be inside, the sheriff's office said.
Investigators confirmed that the deceased is an adult. An autopsy is scheduled for Friday.
Detectives from the Marion County Sheriff's Office are on scene. Special investigators with the Oregon State Police and the State Fire Marshal's Office have responded to assist.
The Woodburn Fire District responded at 6:30 a.m. to a report of an RV fully engulfed by fire. The fire had spread to a nearby farm on Mt. Angel Gervais Road.
After putting out the fire, crews located a body inside the RV.
Investigators expect to be on scene throughout the day Thursday.
"It is still very early in the investigation and very few questions have been answered," the sheriff's office said in a statement. "As details become available more information will be released and that time frame is currently unknown."
