Film trailer released for Oregon Natl. Guardsman's story of stopping Paris terror attack
Alek Skarlatos, the Roseburg, Ore. native who helped stop a terror attack on a Paris-bound train in 2015, is starring in Clint Eastwood’s new movie about the thwarted attack.
A trailer for Eastwood’s new film titled “The 15:17 to Paris” was released on Wednesday.
The film stars Oregon Natl. Guardsman Skarlatos and his two childhood friends, Airman 1st Class Spencer Stone and college student Anthony Sadler, who tackled and subdued a would-be shooter on the Paris-bound train August 20, 2015.
The three friends wrote a book about the experience, which is now the genesis of the new film.
The film hits theaters on February 9, 2018.
Skarlatos is no stranger to the screen – he appeared on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars back in 2015.
The Roseburg native has also received the Oregon Distinguished Service Medal - one of the highest honors an Oregon National Guardsman can receive.
