Everyone's welcome to perform in Honk Fest

EUGENE, Ore. – Musicians from near and far brought street music to Skinner Butte Park Sunday.

Honk Fest brings together brass bands, samba drum lines and more. Some travel from as far away as Chicago and Indiana.

The focus of the free event is community. Anyone can pick up an instrument and join.

“If you have a desire to play music, they'll get an instrument and someone will teach them so they can perform. So they can take part in this,” said Michael Mazz, Honk Fest organizer.

If you missed the fun Sunday, don’t worry. The groups perform again Thursday at 7 p.m. in Kesey Square in downtown Eugene.
