Eugene man falls 75 feet from billboard, dies in Polk County

EUGENE, Ore. — A man from Eugene died after falling from a billboard he was working on Friday afternoon.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., 57-year-old Gregory Jenkins fell about 75 feet to the ground when he lost his balance while working on a billboard at Grand Ronde in Polk County. Mr. Jenkins died at the scene.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that Jenkins was not tethered to the platform with his safety harness.
