EUGENE, Ore. – Eugene City Council approved key deal points on a potential agreement with the county Monday to provide a site for the new County Courthouse and a new City Hall.

The potential agreement would place the courthouse on the former City Hall site. The new City Hall would be built on the current Butterfly Lot.

The plan also would restore the historic public square with enhanced public space in the Park Blocks.

The plan now moves on to the Lane County Board of County Commissioners. The board is expected to discuss the agreement at their June 27 meeting.

According to a press release from the City of Eugene, “The key deal points in the agreement establish the price for each site based on the fair market value, outline the shared investment each government will make in coordinating the development of each site and reiterate the commitment to working together as each project moves forward to ensure the best possible outcomes for current a future needs.”
