DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. - The Douglas County Fair kicks off this week, and people are ready to join in on the fun.

The haze and heat isn't expected to stop people or animals from having fun at the Douglas County Fair in Roseburg. The fair features a little something for everyone, whether it be for kids, a thrill seeker or even those trying to get a little down time in the shade.

But one thing that almost everyone can get behind is the food.

"Baked thing of curly fires, they're so good," said Sonia Correa. "It's a huge plate, it's a huge bowl, and it's covered with curly fries. It's so good, it's the best thing ever."

People can buy anything from BBQ to fried bread, while enjoying some music with every bite.

For some, it's the community that makes the fair special.

"Meeting new people, and seeing old friends that you haven't connected with in a while, it's pretty fun," said Correa.

The Douglas County Fair continues through this Saturday, August 11th at the Fairgrounds.
