Court docs: Woman stabbed more than 60 times by ex's new wife
A Gresham woman was stabbed more than 60 times by her ex-husband's new wife, court documents obtained by KATU News say.
According to court documents obtained by KATU News, Annastasia Hester was stabbed more than 60 times and had defensive wounds on her hands. She even managed to call 911 after she was attacked, but was pronounced dead shortly after.
Police used surveillance video from various sources to confirm the car McCraw-Hester and Matthew Hester shared was driven to Annastasia Hester's house around 11 p.m. June 9, 2016 and returned back to their home around 3 a.m. the next day.
Evidence at the scene showed someone had broken into Annastasia Hester's home through a window.
Investigators matched a bloody shoe print in the apartment to a pair of boots McCraw-Hester owned.
Court documents also reveal Hester had a custody battle with her ex-husband Matthew Hester over their daughter. The two had separated when Hester found out her husband was having an affair, and the pair were granted shared custody. In May 2016, Annastasia Hester was given full custody of their daughter, while Matthew Hester was ordered to pay more than $13,000 in back child support and $29,000 in legal bills.
Less than a week after Annastasia's death, Matthew called an insurance company to see if he or his daughter were listed as beneficiaries in her life insurance plan.
