COOS BAY, Ore. — A driver who was stopped for outstanding warrants fled from a traffic stop and struck a Coos County Sheriff's deputy Thursday morning in Coos Bay.
Coos Bay Police and the Coos County Sheriff's Office pursued the suspect, who was traveling at a low rate of speed in a burgundy SUV through the downtown area.
The Coos County Sheriff's Office says the female driver had previous known warrants and was stopped to serve those warrants.
The driver fled from the traffic stop and hit a sheriff's deputy who was out of their car at low speed. No injuries were reported.
The suspect diverted directions heading down 101 toward Bunker Hill.
Spike strips were deployed after a chase and the driver was taken into custody.
