Sheriff: Coos Bay man, 49, killed in logging accident in Douglas County
OAKLAND, Ore. - A Coos Bay man died after getting caught in a piece of logging equipment Monday, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office said.
Douglas County 911 took a call around 10 a.m. reporting a logging accident near Galagher Canyon off Highway 138W.
Medics arrived to find 49-year-old James Jarrett of Coos Bay caught in a piece of logging equipment.
Firefighters from Oakland and Kellogg worked to free Jarrett.
He died at the scene, the sheriff's office said. His family has been notified about his death, the sheriff's office said.
