3 murdered dogs found, police seek help from public for information

The Siskiyou County Major Crimes Unit took to Facebook Sunday asking for public assistance in regards to three murdered dogs found in Montague.

The Unit says the dogs were located in the 1300 block of Ball Mountain and Little Shasta Rd. One was stuffed into a dog food bag.

An investigation revealed that the dogs were both adults and weighed over 60 pounds. They were shot and dumped in the location by unknown perpetrators.

One dog had shorthair with tan patches while the other was brown with long thick hair.

Shortly after the initial investigation, a deputy responded back to the same area to a report of a third dog was found dead in the area.

"All dogs appeared to be mixed hunting-type dogs in pedigree and one appeared to resemble a bloodhound," according to Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office.

The Unit asks if you have any information regarding the incident to call the dispatch line at 530 - 841-2900 or a personal message to their Facebook page.
