PORTLAND, Ore. – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help finding a stolen puppy.

Deputies say the puppy was inside a vehicle that was stolen from St. Vincent Medical Center Monday.

Investigators recovered the stolen vehicle early Wednesday morning, but the puppy is still missing.

Deputies say someone stole a 1992 Honda Civic from the parking structure of Providence St. Vincent Medical Center at 9205 Southwest Barnes Road in Portland.

Inside, was a brown and black, 5-month-old Yorkshire Terrier, named Jedi.

Deputies have reviewed hospital security footage and saw two suspects associated with a light-colored SUV. In the video, the SUV stops next to the Honda, one person gets out and enters the car, and then both vehicles drive away.

The vehicle was found abandoned in the Cedar Hills Shopping Center parking lot. Deputies searched it for evidence and returned it to the victim shortly after.

The owner says she’s only owned the puppy for two months. She got the puppy to replace her last dog, that was recently killed. She says she’s heartbroken and desperately wants to be reunited with Jedi.

Anyone with information about the suspects or the missing puppy should call non-emergency dispatch at (503) 629-0111.
