Veterans Home Improvement: Program in place to help vets in Douglas County
ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Some Roseburg veterans will be getting help to improve or repair their homes.
NeighborWorks Umpqua is looking for veterans to enroll in their Veterans Home Improvement Program.
It would allow veterans who own a home in Roseburg to apply to get an $8,000 grant to fix up their homes.
Organizers say it's important to help veterans in the community.
"No one who has given their livelihood for service should have to live in substandard conditions," said NeighborWorks Umpqua’s Nick Noyes.
