General George Patton's grandson visits D-Day Memorial

BEDFORD, Va. (WSET)-- The D-Day Memorial in Bedford, Virginia had a special visitor Friday.

General George Patton's grandson, George Patton Waters, spoke for the 315th Infantry Regiment's 70th Anniversary Reunion.

Waters comes from a legacy of U.S. soldiers.

His grandfather commanded the U.S. Seventh Army in the Mediterranean and European theaters of World War II and led the U.S. Third Army in France and Germany.

His father served in the Army and Waters served in the Navy.

During his visit he shared, "there is no greater honor than to serve your country, it's a privilege, it's not a requirement."

Waters also shared that he is honored to represent his family.
