The Idaho Division of Veterans Services is launching a new project to help identify all Idaho memorials that honor veterans.

IDVS is asking the public to upload photos, history and stories about any Idaho veteran memorial to a website called

That way you can read and see the history behind each monument and find local memorials.

Veteran services would even like information about private or small memorials like one made by Michael Murphysweet.

He built a memorial at his Boise business, Capital City Heating and Cooling, last year to honor all fallen Idaho veterans.

"The memorial first started out to [memorialize] my brother and then come to find out my installation manager, Floyd Peak, lost his son the same time I lost my brother in Iraq, so I did it for both of them, and then I started thinking about, 'Wait a minute, we're kind of committed to the community,' so I did it for everyone," said Murphysweet.

Murphysweet's memorial lists every Idaho service member who died from the Korean War until now and includes every branch of the military.
