EUGENE, Ore. - After missing the trip to Colorado while serving a one-game suspenion, tight end Colt Lyerla informed head coach Mark Helfrich he was leaving the team for personal reasons.
Lyerla will pursue a pro football career instead of playing college ball.
The Colorado game was the second game this season Helfrich didn't play Lyerla.
Lyerla said the decision to leave the program was his and that he is withdrawing from the University of Oregon on good terms.
Lyerla, a 2012 honorable mention All-Pac 12 selection, finished his college career with 34 catches for 565 yards and 11 touchdowns.
