Inside the Pac: Thomas Tyner's Return
EUGENE, Ore. - Thomas Tyner racked up 1,284 yards and 14 touchdowns during his two years with the Ducks before medically retiring in 2016. On Thursday he tweeted "What If...I hate that thought..."
Now we know what he may have been referring to.
According to a report from the Oregonian's John Canzano the former 5 star recruit is making a return to football with Oregon State. That's right, during next year's Civil War Tyner will be standing on on the opposite sideline.
His decision isn't as simple as picking the Beavers over the Ducks. NCAA rules do not allow for a player to return to the field at the same university they retired from.
If Tyner is able to return to the running back he was before the injury, Ryan Nall and Thomas Tyner could be a deadly 1-2 punch in the backfield for gary Andersen's Beavers.
Sky Muller and Preston Hiefield discuss what kind of impact OSU fans can expect from Tyner.
