Inside the Pac: Oregon's Baseball Season Finally Comes to a Close

The Oregon Ducks team watches from the dugout. The Oregon Ducks defeated the Arizona State Sun Devils 3-2 on Sunday in the final game of the three-game series to close out with two wins and one loss. Jacob Bennett (#16) gave the Ducks their first point in the third inning. Kyle Kasser (#9) and Morgan McCullough (#1) added two more points in the fourth inning to give the Oregon Ducks enough of a lead to hold off the Sun Devils to the end of the ninth. EUGENE, Ore. - If the Ducks had any shot at a postseason berth entering this weekend they would've needed to sweep UCLA and get some help from around the Pac-12, but that didn't happen.

After splitting the first two games, UCLA beat Oregon 10-1 in game three yesterday. So the Ducks finish the regular season with a 30-25 overall record, including a 12-18 mark in the Pac-12. That's 8th place in the Pac.

Now the offseason grumblings begin about whether or not Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens will offer head coach George Horton a new contract.

Preston Hiefield and Travis Teich breakdown the Ducks' season.
