SALT LAKE CITY - Over the past 10 years, the Utah Utes have gone 97-34, five times reaching double digit season win totals.
But many of those wins came in the Mountain West conference.
Utah is just a game over .500 in two seasons in the Pac-12.
Games like a 10-point loss to USC and a 7-point loss to UCLA summed up Utah's 5-and-7 season in 2012, their first losing campaign since 2002 - and the first under head coach Kyle Whittingham.
While Wittingham retools the offense, he scored one big addition to his coaching staff in the offseason: former Oregon State head coach and Pac-12 veteran Dennis Erickson is now the co-offensive coordinator.
Whittingham hopes he can work some magic on a unit that ranked 73rd in the FBS in scoring offense at 26.5 points per game
Sophomore quarterback Travis Wilson will lead the new look offense, and is on board with erickson's vision.
