Pleasant Hill wins first state title since 1946
KEIZER, OR - Pleasant Hill won its first state baseball championship since 1946 on Friday by defeating Horizon Christian 7-6 in 8 innings at Volcanoes Stadium in Keizer.
Both teams looked nervous early on as they each scored three runs in the first inning.
Pleasant Hill took the lead in the third and added another run in the fourth to go up 5-3.
Horizon Christian answered with three runs in the fifth to take a 6-5 lead.
The Billies then tied it up in the bottom of the seventh to send the game to extra innings.
In the bottom of the eighth, Chase Stowell laid down a squeeze bunt with one out and the bases loaded, scoring Garrett Davis for the winning run.
