Oregon women open NCAA tournament play at home Friday in Eugene

The Oregon Ducks women?s basketball team defeated the Ole Miss Rebels 90-46 on Sunday at Matthew Knight Arena. Sabrina Ionescu tied the NCAA record for triple-doubles, finishing the game with 21 points, 14 assists, and 11 rebounds. Ruthy Hebard added 16 points, Satou Sabally added 12, and both Lexi Bando and Maite Cazorla scored 10 each. The Duck?s will next face off against Texas A&M on Thursday Dec. 21 and Hawaii on Friday Dec. 22 in Las Vegas for Duel in the Desert before the start of Pac-12 games. EUGENE, Ore. - Matthew Knight Arena will host first and second round games in the women's NCAA basketball tournament this week.

That means the No. 2 seed Oregon women open tournament play deep in the woods on their home court against No. 15 seed Seattle University. The teams take the court Friday, March 16, at 4:30 p.m.

The winner of that game will play in the second round Sunday against winner of the 2 p.m. Friday match up of No. 7 seed Green Bay and No. 10 seed Minnesota.

The second round game time has not yet been announced.
