'I'm in awe of you': Russell Wilson shares heart-warming Mother's Day card

SEATTLE - Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson shared a heart-warming letter to his mother in a secret interview with ESPN this week.

In the letter, he thanks his mom for always being a positive force in his life and recounts some of his favorite childhood memories.

"You are the definition of the perfect woman," Wilson writes. "Thank you for teaching me to respect each day as the gift it is ... to live with unwavering faith, kindness, love and perseverance."

Wilson's mother, Tammy Wilson, secretly listens in the the room next door.

"Thank you for the years of always putting our family first no matter how hard life got," Wilson writes. "I'll always love and admire you ... I'm in awe of you."

Wilson also touches on his father's struggle with diabetes and his death in 2010.

"I'll always love and admire you for how you cared for dad until the very end," Wilson says in the letter. "I'll never know how you stayed strong even in the darkest and most trying times."

At the end of the interview, Tammy walks into Russell's room and surprises him.

"I thank Jesus for you everyday," Wilson ends his letter. "I love you. Happy Mother's Day."
