Justice Department investigates Eugene's bid for track and field world championships
US prosecutors are now looking into Eugene's bid for the IAAF Outdoor Track and Field World Championships in 2021.
The New York Times reports that this is part of a wide-reaching investigation into sports corruption that also includes soccer's governing body, FIFA, as well as the international and US Olympic committees.
The BBC reported back in June that the FBI and IRS were investigating Eugene's selection.
The Times reports that prosecutors are seeing information, including personal and corporate banking records.
The IAAF says they're ready to cooperate in the investigation.
