FAIRPORT, N.Y. (WHAM) - Well, Buffalo Bills fans, the wait is over.

The team is finally heading back to the playoffs for the first time since the 1999 season, and fans are thrilled the team will finally be playing beyond the regular season.

Inside Shooters Sports Bar in Fairport, fans anxiously watched as the Bills closed out the Miami Dolphins. But the real stress came afterward when the Bills' fate was in the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals.

However, Andy Dalton's touchdown pass to Tyler Boyd with 44 seconds left sealed the win for the Bengals and sent the Bills to their first trip to the playoffs in nearly two decades.

"It's almost like a weight off everybody's shoulders, all of western New York feels that weight lifted off their shoulders," said Bills fan Brendan Reinart. "It's a happy day for all western New York."

Reinart was among the dozens watching, and hoping, for the playoff drought to end. For those who can't remember the last time the Bills reached the playoffs, the moment was especially sweet.

"This is incredible, I'm from Buffalo, I was 7 years old and living in North Carolina the last time the Bills were in the playoffs and I barely remember it," said Bills fan Zach Zmich. "This is amazing. I've been waiting for this my entire life."

And very rewarding for those who have invested in the team since the last trip to the playoffs.

"Seeing the Bills make the playoffs since '99 is incredible for me because I've been going to games for so long," said Bills fan Christian White. "For me, it's just so surreal seeing the Bills make the playoffs now, it's awesome."

The Bills will now take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m.
