FRONT ROYAL, Va. (ABC7) —
The mother of a 22-month-old baby and a man who lives with them have been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of the baby and injuries to a second 22-month-old baby in Front Royal, Virginia, authorities announced Thursday.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says they got a call on Wednesday that the baby was in cardiac arrest at 908 Blue Mountain Road. The child was taken to Warren Memorial Hospital but later died, officials say.
After an investigation, the sheriff's office says they arrested Chad Ritchie, 28, who lived at that Blue Mountain Road address, and charged him with second degree murder and cruelty and injuries to children.

The two babies are siblings, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.
Authorities say they are continuing to investigate the incident and that Ritchie and Zimmerman are being held in jail without bond.
