Man missing in eastern Oregon wilderness for 13 days found in his car

A man reported missing in eastern Oregon in the Wallowa Mountains has been found.

The Baker County Sheriff's Office says deputies and rescue personnel had been looking for Richard Towell Jr., since he was reported missing since May 28.

Police say they found Towell's vehicle at the Clear Creek Trailhead June 6 and continued to check it every day. On Sunday, search crews found Towell inside his car. He was given dry clothing, food and water and was treated for exposure symptoms.

Police say Towell had been in the surrounding wilderness since May 29.

Emergency crews searched for Towell using ground teams, ATVs, horses, drones, aircraft and air scent canine.
