OAKRIDGE, Ore. (AP) A high level of blue-green algae has triggered a health advisory for Odell Lake in Klamath County.
The Oregon Health Authority said Monday that swallowing or inhaling water droplets from the lake can make people sick, and children are at increased risk because of their size.
The toxins can't be removed by boiling, filtering or treating the water with camping-style filters.
Boating is OK as long as speeds do not create excessive water spray.
The lake is located off Highway 58, about 31 miles southeast of Oakridge.
