WASHINGTON, D.C. - Forty veterans from the southern Willamette Valley took an Honor Flight to the nation's capital to visit for the first time the memorials to the wars they fought in.

KVAL News traveled with the Honor Flight.

While touring one of the monuments, photographer Loren Ruark and anchor David Walker caught up with Honor Flight supporter Alan Kalter,

From 1995 through the end of the show in 2015, Kalter was the announcer on the "Late Show with David Letterman" on CBS TV.
