EUGENE, Ore. - Jen Lowry and Travis Will woke up at 5 a.m. and headed for Valley River Center to stand in line for the first showing of "The Force Awakens".

The fans were the first to line up when the mall opened at 6 a.m.

The first showing of the much anticipated film? 7 p.m.

"You have people here to kind of tag team and go get lunch or stay here in line while we go do this. It works out. It's 'strategery'. You come with a plan."

Travis and Jen spent the last few days watching the other 6 Star Wars films to prepare for Episode VII.

Jen requested time off from work a month in advance.

"I've seen the originals so many times," she said. "I've got all the lines memorized."

If you plan on joining Jen and Travis, remember: Regal Cinemas does not allow fans to wear masks or carry sabers.

"I always hoped they would make another 'Star Wars', but you never know," said Emily Hill, dressed as a Wookie. "But I'm thrilled that they did. I'm just thrilled to see what happens next."
