TRAFFIC ALERT: Parts of Jefferson Street closed Friday for striping
EUGENE, Ore. -- A portion of Jefferson Street in Eugene will be closed Friday for road work, City of Eugene officials said.
On Friday, December 8, Jefferson Street, from 13th to 18th avenues, will be closed for striping.
Along with striping, crews will also install crosswalks and other legends.
"The closure is necessary to ensure safety for workers and to allow the material time to cure before permitting cars back on the road," the City said.
The work is the final portion of the Jefferson Street Resurfacing Project.
Crews worked through the summer to rebuild the travel lanes and add safety improvements throughout the corridor, the City said..
Funding for this project, which is cost-estimated at $2.9 million, comes from the 2012 voter-approved bond measure.
