North Bend High School moves forward with trade school plan
NORTH BEND, Ore. -- North Bend High School is moving forward with plans to bring a trade school to its campus.
The plan is to tear down a grouping of sheds and build in their place the North Bend Trade Center.
The new building will provide training to students for home construction trades such as framing, roofing and plumbing.
The school teamed up with local construction businesses on the project and is working now to hire an architect.
“We've had a lot of focus in recent years on our college-bound students, and we're going to continue that, that's still important to us,” North Bend High Vice Principal Jake Smith said.
Smith hopes to have the North Bend Trade School fully operational by next winter.
