ROSEBURG, Ore. -- A Roseburg man was arrested Thursday morning after police say he intentionally stopped traffic by stepping into the roadway in front of vehicles.

According to a Roseburg Police Department report, 37-year-old Henry David Beckwith walked in front of a vehicle on SE Jackson, forcing it to stop.

He then proceeded to step in front of a second vehicle traveling behind the first, police said.

When officers made contact with Beckwith, they say he was drinking from a 24 oz. Camo beer in Eagle's Park.

Beckwith took off running when he spotted officers in the area, but was quickly detained, the report said.

He was cited and lodged for Disorderly Conduct 2. He was also cited for Drinking in Public and issued his first city expulsion warning.
