Chase ends when stolen RV slams into house
GRANITE FALLS, Wash. -- A Tuesday evening police chase across Snohomish County ended when a stolen motor home slammed into several cars and a Granite Falls house.
Deputies had been searching for a motor home that was reported stolen early Tuesday morning. At about 5:30 p.m., a friend of the owner spotted the stolen vehicle at a Walmart in South Everett and called 911.
Deputies -- along with Washington State Patrol troopers and Everett Police -- soon caught up with the motor home and attempted to pull it over. The driver refused to stop, which sparked an hour-long police chase through Snohomish County.
The driver eventually ended up in Granite Falls, where witnesses say he crashed into at least five cars before slamming into a house near Mountain Loop Highway and Gun Club Road.
After the crash, the driver -- who was wearing only underwear -- jumped out of the motor home and ran into a nearby house, according to a witness.
Deputies quickly found and arrested the 33-year-old driver. A person who was in one of the damaged cars was taken to a local hospital to be treated for unknown injuries.
The Snohomish County Sheriff's Collision Investigation Team is on scene and handling the investigation.
