ALBANY, Ore. - Tracy Huffstutler's goal: ride 22 miles per day around Albany, rack up 2,000 miles by December 10 - and raise money to help kids this "Christ-mas," as she calls it.
"What is Christmas about? Christ," she said. "Who do I want to do this for? Christ."
The money she raises on her journey will be divided between Fish of Albany and the Salvation Army.
The fundraiser kicks of Tuesday. The effort gives focus to an activity Tracy was already doing.
"I have not gone a day yet without riding my bike. I have to ride my bike," she said. "So I thought, Christmas is coming up, charities. I want to do something to help my community."
Tracy's route: anywhere in Albany.
"Wherever my heart, wherever God tells me to ride," she said.
If you see Tracy, she invites you to ride along with her. She'll be the bicyclist in the "Riding for CHRISTmas" tie-dye t-shirt.
