Woman killed when oncoming pickup crosses into her lane

SALEM, Ore. - A woman was killed in a three-vehicle crash Friday morning on Highway 22 west of Salem.

The crash happened around 7:10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway near the Highway 51 junction.

According to the Oregon State Police, a Chevrolet pickup driven by a 60-year-old Gervais man was headed westbound on Highway 22 when it crossed the center line into the eastbound lane.

The pickup collided with two other vehicles - a Toyota 4Runner driven by a 35-year-old Falls City man and a car driven by a woman. Both drivers had tried to avoid the crash but were unable to steer clear.

The woman, 32-year-old Emily Sue Campbell of Dallas, was killed in the crash. The two other drivers were transported to Salem Hospital with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.

Crash investigators are looking into what happened.
