Woman found shot 'execution style' in Oregon arrived in US from Russia in March
CORVALLIS, Ore. (KVAL) - The woman found dead in the woods outside Alsea this month has been identified as 28-year-old Anna Alekseyevna Repkina, the Benton County Sheriff's Office said.
Repkina arrived in the U.S. on March 1 with a Russian passport, the sheriff's office said.
"The circumstances surrounding the positioning of the body indicated a violent or unexpected death," Undersheriff Greg Ridler said after the body was found.
Investigators later arrested William Hargrove, 27, on suspicion of murder in her death.
"The defendant was living with two different women in two different households," prosecutor Amie Matusko told the court April 20 at Hargrove's arraignment.
Matusko called the situation a "problematic love triangle."
One of the women gave Hargrove an ultimatum, Matusko said.
"Her or me, and the defendant decided," the prosecutor said. "He took the victim out to a very remote logging location and she was found shot dead in the back of her head, execution style."
The sheriff's office said Repkina's family has been notified of her death with the assistance of Russian authorities.
The Benton County Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information about Repkina and her activities while in Corvallis and Benton County to call 541-766-6858.
