Woman found injured, unconscious on side of road

ROSEBURG, Ore. - A motorist found an injured woman unconscious on the side of a country road west of Roseburg early Wednesday morning.

The woman was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield for what the sheriff's office described as "serious injuries."

A motorist spotted the woman on the side of the road in the 2500 block of Reston Road around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday. She was unconscious and injured.

The woman has been identified as a 53-year-old Roseburg resident.

Her name was not released.

Earlier Wednesday, the sheriff's office released details describing the woman in hopes the public could help identify her.

The sheriff's office described the woman as a white female, 40-50 years of age, 200-225 lbs, with brown hair.

She was wearing a purple tank top and shorts, and she was wearing two rings on each of her ring fingers.

She also has a small hoop-style nose ring in her left nostril.

She also has a mole on her left lower eyelid and a tattoo on the back of her neck of a red heart with a flower (in picture at right).
