Woman found in river near submerged SUV dies
LEABURG, Ore. - Medics rushed a woman to the hospital by air ambulance after she was found floating downstream from her car Monday night in the McKenzie River.
Callers reported a submerged car to the sheriff's office just before 7 p.m. Deputies located a 2011 Kia SUV east of the Ben and Kay Dorris Boat Ramp.
A short time later, callers reported a person floating down the river.
McKenzie River Fire Department crews got the woman out of the water. She was taken to the hospital by air ambulance.
The woman, identified as Beverly Fry-Hadden, 60, of Vida, was pronounced dead at the hospital
The Lane County Sheriff's Office and the medical examiner are investigating cause and manner of death.
