Woman dies at seasonal camp near Oregon Country Fair
VENETA, Ore. -- A woman died Sunday morning at a campground near the Oregon Country Fair, the Lane County Sheriff's Office said.
Emergency crews were called out around 10:30 a.m. Sunday to help an unconscious and unresponsive woman at the "Jason's Camp" seasonal campground off of Suttle Road, officials said.
Paramedics arrived to find campers performing CPR on Alix Larsen, 54, of Eugene. After several attempts to resuscitate her, emergency staff pronounced Larsen dead at the scene.
Deputies learned from other campers that Larsen's death could have been caused by a drug overdose, the sheriff's office said. The medical examiner is still investigating what caused Larsen's death.
