Woman cited after motorcyclist struck on I-5
EUGENE, Ore. -- A Springfield woman has been cited by troopers, following the investigation into the crash that sent a motorcyclist to the hospital Wednesday.
At about 10:40 am, Terry Brateng, 58, of Dallas, had stopped his bike with two other motorcycles on the right southbound shoulder of I-5 near milepost 194 underneath an overpass to get out of the heavy rain.
That's when troopers say Kaitlyn Inman, 20, of Springfield, drove her 1990 Honda Accord onto the shoulder, striking Brateng as he was walking around his bike.
He was seriously injured and taken to Sacred Heart for treatment.
Inman was cited by state police for failing to drive in a lane.
