Winston police ID man that ran

WINSTON, Ore. -- Police in Winston have released the identity of the man they say ran from them, causing a local middle school to go into modified lockdown.

Police say an officer spotted Kristopher Ray Jones, 31, of Winston at the 7-11 on Main Street.

The officer knew he was wanted and tried to contact him.

Police say the man took off on foot, leading them on a chase down Main Street past the fire station.

Winston police called in a Roseburg K-9 to help track the man, but they were unable to locate him.

Winston Middle School was put into a modified lockdown until about 4:00 pm.
