What had traffic backed up on Beltline? A boat of course

EUGENE, Ore. -- Traffic was backed up on westbound Beltline near the Prairie Road exit after a boat wound up docked in rush hour traffic.

Oregon State Police on the scene said witnesses told them a truck pulling the boat began to fishtail.

The vessel separated from the tow trailer and sailed across the median into the westbound lanes from the eastbound side.

No cars were hit, and no one was injured.

The crash closed the road down to one lane.

Traffic quickly backed up during the evening commute until crews removed the boat from the road.
