MAPLETON, Ore. - The Siuslaw River hit flood stage at 10 p.m. Monday night, and water is expected to crest a half foot over flood stage around 4 a.m. Tuesday.

That means some low-lying areas in Mapleton - where residents aren't strangers to flooding - and properties along the Siuslaw will flood overnight.

The Siuslaw River was one of several western Oregon rivers under flood warnings after a day of intense rain.

Flood warnings were issued for the Alsea River near Tidewater, the Marys River near Philomath, the Luckiamute near Suver and the Siletz in Lincoln County.
