ASHLAND, Ore. - Severe winter conditions on Interstate 5 at Siskiyou Summit are causing delays between Oregon and California.

Snow, ice, fog and wind are causing delays and periodic traffic problems, the Oregon Department of Transportation said.

Chains are required.

The wintery weather left a string of crashes along I-5 just north of the California border.

A semi and passenger car were blocking southbound lanes a mile north of the border as of 10 a.m.

Several semis crashed, blocking the northbound lanes 7 miles north of the border as of 9:46 a.m.

The northbound slow lane was blocked 11 miles north of the border.
