'We love football in the South. They love football here. We're going to get along'
EUGENE, Ore. - Oregon Duck fans went to Knoxville in 2010 and brought home a win.
Tennessee fans are in Eugene this week hoping their Volunteers can return the favor.
The two 2-0 teams meet at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Autzen Stadium.
"We're a team that's totally capable of getting destroyed by 50 points by y'all," said Vols fan Jon Hodgdon. "But we're also a team that's totally capable of beating y'all."
Richie Micklo is rooting for the former.
"I'm a big USC fan and a season ticket holder, and I gave my tickets away today so I could come up here and watch Oregon beat down on an SEC team," he said.
Vols fan Nick Tate actually welcomes that opportunity.
"We like it. We like to be the underdogs," he said. "We're ready to win."
Duck fans are confident Oregon will walk away victorious.
"We're absolutely going to destroy them," said Robby Cunnie. "And it's good to beat up on an SEC team every time."
"It'll be close," Vols fan Steven Willins said. "But it'll be a lot of points on the board either way."
Win or lose, fans are excited.
"Once a Duck, always a Duck," said Jeffrey Boen. "It's great to see everyone out there supporting their team."
"We love football in the South. They love football here," Hodgdon said. "I think we're going to get along."
