Waterfowl shot with darts spotted in Springfield park

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - Animal control officers attempted to capture waterfowl that have been shot with blow darts in an attempt to get the animals veterinary help Thursday.

The birds did not cooperate.

Springfield Animal Control has received reports this past week of birds hit with blowdarts in Island Park in Springfield.

Officers are aware of a goose with a dart through its face and another with a dart through its throat. The duck has a dart protruding from its breast.

There are no suspects at this time.
