Watch as suspected burglar bounds across Seattle rooftops
SEATTLE -- A burglary suspect attempted to elude arrest Friday night by leaping from roof to roof like a superhero in Seattle's Central District, according to the Seattle Police Department.
Unlike a superhero, when the suspected burglar ran out of roofs, he didn't have the power of flight or a grappling hook or super strong webbing to get him out of the jam.
Believing there to be a burglary in progress, a neighbor called 911 shortly after 9 p.m. to report hearing glass breaking at a nearby home and seeing two men in the 400 block of 21st Avenue.
According to police, officers arrived and arrested one of the suspects after a foot chase and search.
Canine units and the King County Sheriff's helicopter were called in to look for the second suspect, who was spotted hiding on a roof by King County Sheriff Air Support.
Video from the helicopter shows the suspect on a neighborhood roof as officers are closing in on him. The suspect then jumps from roof to roof before running out of room and being arrested.
The 20-year-old and 22-year-old suspects were booked into King County Jail for investigation of burglary.
The victim's home had a broken sliding glass door, but it is unknown if anything was taken.
